Institute of Contemporary Art Miami has a New Home

Institute of Contemporary Art Miami re-opens in the Design District

Designed by Aranguren & Gallegos Arquitectos, the new building reflects both the unique cultural landscape of Miami and the museum’s mission of engaging the public with the work of the most innovative local and international artists working today.

With more than double the exhibition space in its new permanent home on 41st St. in the Design District, the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami presents a bold inaugural program that is sure to impress all walks of life.  The museum reflects its commitment to championing new narratives in contemporary art and also provides a platform for the exchange of art and ideas through a program called ICA Speaks.

Highlights of ICA Miami’s inaugural program include The Everywhere Studio, a thematic survey tracing the impact and influence of the artist’s studio from postwar to the present day.  The museum’s outdoor sculpture garden features a significant sculpture by George Segal alongside large-scale installations.  Plus site-specific commissions have been created to exist in a certain place. Typically, the artist takes the location into account while planning and creating the artwork.

The surrounding neighborhood is Buena Vista, where many residents, like myself, are within walking distance and excited to have this beautiful addition in the Design District.  The museum is deeply committed to providing open, public access to artistic excellence by offering year-round free admission.  Admission to ICA Miami Opening Day is also free of charge. Tickets must be reserved online in advance of your visit.

Please contact me for more information regarding the neighborhood and if you are interested in buying property in this highly desirable part of Miami, I will be glad to assist.
